Key Responsibility Areas
- Controlling traffic and pedestrians at various facilities.
- Issuing traffic offence notices to motorists and the public.
- Reporting accident details at accident scenes to the control room.
- Handling criminal offenses and reporting incidents to the control room.
- Providing evidence in court.
- Assisting with point duties at malfunctioning traffic signals.
- Taking preliminary actions in emergencies and disasters.
- Addressing public complaints.
Essential Requirements
To qualify for this role, you must:
- Hold permanent residence in the Republic of South Africa (RSA), with documentary proof.
- Be between 18 and 35 years old at the application closing date, supported by documentary proof.
- Undergo a medical examination to demonstrate physical and mental fitness for the position.
- Have a Matric or Grade 12 qualification.
- Be proficient in English and at least one other official language.
- Possess a valid motor vehicle driver’s license (Code B), or commit to obtaining one within 9 months. You’ll also need to pass a driver’s evaluation by the Durban Metropolitan Police Service.
- Have no previous criminal convictions.
- Consent to fingerprinting.
- Be willing to undergo a background check.
